I want to thank the hundreds of members of the Raleigh Police Protective Association for their rigid stance against the PBM system. The RPPA is proud to stand behind Chief Deck-Brown’s decision and support her recognition of the need for a more meaningful and impartial evaluation system. This decision will allow officers to once again concentrate and focus on the extensive work they do for the citizens of this city. The RPPA looks forward to working with the department and the City of Raleigh in the future to implement a purposeful and unbiased evaluation system that will accurately reflect the great work done by all Raleigh police officers.
Today, January 17, 2013, I have rescinded my grievance filed in July 2012 in protest against the PBM system. I am now asking all members who have filed similar grievances to consider doing the same in light of the Chief’s decision.
Again I thank you in your support and dedication to organize for meaningful cause.
Raleigh Police Protective Association President
